Simoco to Speak at FCS Event
10 NOVEMBER 2011 – Andy Grimmett, Chief Technologist at Global Mobile Radio Specialist Simoco Group, will address next week’s Federation of Communication Services (FCS) Business Radio event.
The event will take place on the 17th November 2011 in Leicestershire and brings together the UK regulator, manufacturers, dealers and users to review regulatory changes and new business developments.
The focus of this year’s event is on Business Radio in the Internet of Things and will see speeches and workshops from the key players in the radio communications industry, including a presentation on the latest developments from Ofcom and product briefing workshops from a range of manufacturers.
Andy will be speaking about the development of the IP concept and the use of IP communications as a backbone for all technologies including PMR. He will also cover the benefits of the technology, including delivering cost savings and providing resilience within communications networks.
Finally, the speech will cover how IP and standard protocols are allowing customers to integrate data devices onto radio networks in addition to traditional voice services.
Andy is Chief Technologist at Simoco and has over 18 years’ experience in radio communications research, development and project delivery. Commenting on the event, Andy says: “Business Radio represents the interests of all those involved in the manufacture and distribution of business radio products and services. It provides a platform for the professional radio industry to demonstrate the advances it is making, identifying new technologies, business opportunities and reviewing issues such as regulation.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for us, as early adopters of IP backbones to discuss how we have developed this concept and to examine how our customers have embraced IP and now use a mix of private and public IP networks to deliver services.”
The FCS annual Business Radio event will take place on the 17th November at the Barcelo Hinckley Island, Hinckley, Leicestershire. For more information visit www.fcs.org.uk/Events/BusinessRadio.aspx |
